Founder and lead guide

Dan has been exploring the Mauritian wilderness since he was eight. While most people know Mauritius for its beaches, he was always drawn to the forests, rivers and mountains, discovering hidden trails that shaped who he is today.

He is also active with the local rescue services, helping in search-and-rescue operations around the 7 Waterfalls (Tamarind Falls) and Black River Gorges National Park. That experience, with his first aid and rescue certifications, gives guests an extra layer of confidence on the trail.

Priska combines years of guiding in the field with a leadership background and a deep understanding of tourism operations.

Guests describe her as attentive to safety and to the group's pace. She runs the company and still leads hikes herself.

How we keep you safe

  1. Small groups

    Each departure takes a limited number of guests, so your guide can watch your footing and your pace.

  2. Trained guides

    Our guides are first aid and rescue certified and help the local rescue services on these same trails.

  3. We call the weather

    Weather in Mauritius changes fast. If your guide decides conditions make the hike unsafe, we will move your booking to another date or tour that suits you.
